Talent like Muhammad Waseem is our pride: COAS

Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated boxer Muhammad Waseem who beat Conrado Tanamor of the Philippines in the first round of their Dubai fight.Gen Bajwa gathered at his office with the boxer and congratulated him on the country’s latest accomplishment.

“Talent like you is our pride, we are here to support youngsters like you having potential and positive energy.”

the army chief said

The star boxer returned by knocking out his Filipino rival within 82 seconds of the opening round after winning in dramatic fashion on Friday.

The victory of Waseem went unnoticed as he was ignored at the airport upon entry. When he returned to the nation, there was no formal present.

The boxer was given a government apology on behalf of Pakistan by the bowling legend Wasim Akram. He reminded the nation how our heroes should be remembered.
