Retired Punjab policeman finds in bank account Rs.555 M

FAISALABAD: A retired Punjab police officer discovered in his bank account more than Rs555 million, he said on Wednesday, expressing confusion about the sum.

The retired constable, Arshad Mehmood, said when checking the balance, he discovered Rs555,300,000 in his account. “My pension is Rs25,000 a month, so I don’t know where the millions of rupees originated from?

“I only got to know about this huge sum of money when I checked the balance in my bank account through the ATM [automated teller machine],” Mehmood said.

The constable said he immediately informed the bank about his concern.

“The bank’s management has withdrawn the additional money from my account,” he added.
