Karachi: Sub-leases revealed despite ban

NOW EXPOSED : Despite ban in Karachi, the property sub-leasing was reported. The Anti-Corruption Establishment raided three sub-registrar offices and confiscated the documents. Authorities argue that subsidization cost millions of rupees to the national treasury.

The East Zone Anti-Corruption raided the Jamshed Town office of the sub-registrar, seizing a three-year record. Records from Gulshan Iqbal One and Two’s offices were also taken earlier. The lease is banned, according to the authorities. However, sub-lease was awarded in all three offices after getting bribe.

Sub-registrar offices are the biggest sub-lease holders to make or purchase illegal houses and parts, according to anti-corruption authorities. Authorities claim that after a thorough inquiry, legal action will be taken against those concerned.
