Complete shutdown being observed in IIOJK today

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed on Saturday, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders Mohammad Farooq and Abdul Ghani and martyrs of Hawal…..

The shutdown is also aimed at protesting against the illegal detention of leaders and activists lodged in different jails of occupied Kashmir and India……

Muhammad Farooq was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Srinagar on this day in 1990…. On the same day, seventy mourners were killed when Indian troops resorted to indiscriminate firing on his funeral procession in the city…..

Twelve years later on this day in 2002, Abdul Ghani Lone was assassinated by unknown attackers when he was returning after addressing a gathering at the Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar….
