Comedian Hasan Minhaj refused to join Modi’s rally in Texas

Indian-American comedian Hasan Minhaj was denied entry Sunday at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally.

Despite proof to the contrary, the event producers quote “lack of credentials” and “lack of space for broadcast crews” at the location.

Videos published on Adam Matthew Weiss ‘ Instagram profile, chairman and CEO of AMW Public Relations (AMWPR), who managed the incident, pictured Minhaj being told that he and his team had no press credentials accessible and that there was no room for him to take his camera team to the location.

Subsequent clips proved otherwise on the Weiss ‘ Instagram tale, with other media teams present with sufficient room in the press pool region.

Neither Minhaj, Weiss or AMWPR have responded to the incident yet.

Journalist Maria Kari added that she was also refused media credentials, preventing her from attending the rally.

There is speculation that Minhaj was denied entry due to his past criticism of the Indian Prime Minister, US President Donald Trump and expression of support for Kashmir on India’s Independence Day on Aug 15.
